Fiestas de Sant Bartomeu, Capdepera

Along with the traditional events, a varied mosaic of recreational, cultural and sporting events manage to captivate and engage locals and foreigners, adding a new value to the festivities: the popular character.
Throughout the two weeks of festivities, there is a continuous massive influx of people in the streets, to participate in the wide range of activities offered by all groups. Due to the proximity of the dates with the festivities of Cala Ratjada, for some years now these have been celebrated together.
Special mention should be made of the magic of the “Nit del Foc” in Capdepera (a nightly parade of demons, with torches, fire wheels, firecrackers, gunpowder, etc.). That night the lights of the streets of the medieval town of Capdepera are turned off and, accompanied by the roar of gunpowder, hundreds of people walk through the streets dancing under the clubs of the demons. It is an impressive spectacle, the closest thing to hell.
