Serra de Tramuntana Fair, Lluc

A fair celebrating the Serra de Tramuntana takes place every October at Lluc Santuary in Escorca. During the weekend, visitors can buy local produce, go on guided tours of the monastery and hear the ‘Blauets’ choir.
Caring for the environment and promoting produce grown in the Serra de Tramuntana is at the heart of this weekend fair in early October. Local farmers, winemakers and artisans congregate in the square of Lluc monastery to sell their wares. There are also talks on conservation and family-friendly workshops.

The monastery, considered to be the spiritual centre of the island, welcomes visitors on a special guided tour over the weekend. It also hosts a choir concert by the ‘Blauets’, who typically sing the ancient Cant de la Sibil.la on Christmas Eve. Following the concert, there is folk-dancing and music.

The Serra de Tramuntana was declared a UNESCO Word Heritage Site in the category of cultural landscape in 2011. It stretches between Sa Dragonera and Formentor, with its highest peak rising 1,436 metres.
