Fira es Jai (Grandfather Fair), Búger

On the first Sunday in May, Búger celebrates this festival, revived in 1977, which recalls an ancient custom, when grandparents returned to the village after attending the fairs in Inca and Sineu and were welcomed by their grandchildren. Today, the figure of the jai (grandfather) rides around in a cart and hands out sweets to the children. The ritual is accompanied by other types of activities throughout the day such as popular races, traditional dances and musical performances. In addition, an agricultural, livestock, industrial and craft fair is held throughout the weekend.
