Torrent de Pareis Concert

Music lovers should not miss the opportunity to attend the free annual open-air choral concert in the spectacular setting of the Torrent de Pareis in the northwest Tramuntana mountains. First organised in 1964 by the Catalan painter Josep Coll Bardolet, these concerts have continued since his death in 2007. Since 1984, Sa Nostra bank has promoted the event, which takes place on the first Sunday in July, in the late afternoon.
Musical genres over the years have included classical, gospel, jazz, and songs from the world of cinema. The dramatic canyon is a spectacular backdrop to these concerts, with the sound enhanced by the unique acoustics – creating a natural auditorium.
Even though Torrent de Pareis is not the most accessible place on Mallorca, thousands of locals and visitors attend this emblematic summer event, making their way to Sa Calobra and to the Torrent de Pareis. Many drive the snaking Sa Calobra pass, but the easier option is to take one of the boats from Port de Sóller.
